FBI says glove found in search near Guthrie home appears to match that of suspect’s on surveillance video; DNA recovered | News

The FBI revealed new findings in the Nancy Guthrie case Sunday afternoon.

According to the FBI, gloves were discovered approximately two miles from Guthrie’s home in the Catalina Foothills in a field near the side of the road earlier this week. Now, invesitgators are awaiting confirmation of DNA results.

Investigators say the gloves were packaged by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and arrived at a private lab in Florida on Friday.

The FBI received preliminary results on the gloves, Saturday. The FBI is currently awaiting quality control and official confirmation before entering the unknown male profile into CoDIS, the national database.

Officials noted that this process typically takes 24 hours from when the FBI gets the DNA.

The FBI said investigators collected approximately 16 gloves in various areas near the house, most of which were worn by searchers and then discarded.

The FBI said the glove with the DNA profile is different and appears to match those of the suspect seen in surveillance video outside Nancy Guthrie’s front door on Feb. 1, the morning she went missing.
