Day 24 of Guthrie Case: PCSD addresses doorbell camera video | News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – As the investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie reaches its 24th day, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is talking about the doorbell camera footage from Guthrie’s home.

The video, released a few weeks ago, shows the man standing between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. The backpack he is wearing is exclusively sold at Walmart. Investigators are collaborating with Walmart to identify who purchased these backpacks and when.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department addressed reports of earlier footage showing the suspect without a backpack and in different clothes.

“We are aware that doorbell images released earlier in the investigation depict a suspect in different stages of attire, including with and without a backpack. There is no date or time stamp associated with these images. Therefore, any suggestion that the photographs were taken on different days is purely speculative,” the department said.

Investigators emphasized the importance of relying on verified evidence.

“Conclusions will be guided by verifiable evidence and established facts,” they said. “Speculation, without factual support, does not advance the investigative process,” they added.

The search for Nancy Guthrie continues as investigators work to piece together the timeline and gather more evidence.
