For the last four years in a row, Yelp has included De Babel on its annual list of the Top 100 Restaurants in the country. In 2025, it peaked at No. 3 nationwide. And now, it’s opening a second location, bringing its award-winning Middle Eastern cuisine to more Valley customers.
De Babel’s original restaurant is located off Pima Road and Raintree Drive just west of the Loop 101. On Tuesday, its second location will open roughly four miles south, at The Edge, a shopping plaza at 90th Street just east of the Loop 101.
The new location includes large patios and a restaurant designed for customers to linger.
“We wanted to create a more complete experience while remaining true to who we are,” De Babel founder Marwan Kandeel said in a news release. “The food will continue to be made to order, the kitchen will remain strictly halal and our guests will still find the consistent flavors they know. At the same time, we are creating a more comfortable environment and making important Middle Eastern products easier to find.”

In addition to the restaurant, the space will also house a Middle Eastern market stocked with fresh cheeses, tahini, pickles and gluten-free options. While the restaurant remains strictly halal, the market will offer kosher-certified packaged products.
The restaurant’s menu will remain the same as at the original location, with favorites including gyro and chicken Tawook sandwiches served on fresh pita, smoky baba ghanoush, silky hummus and vibrant tabbouleh. Dinner plates of lamb tikka and chicken shawarma are other staples to look for.
Customers can round out a meal with fresh juices and finish on a sweet note with dairy-free tahini ice cream.
“This is not about changing the food or turning De Babel into something unfamiliar,” Kandeel said. “It is about protecting what our guests already love and building a better experience around it.”
