TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — A Tucson man faces multiple charges after police reportedly found a stash of privately made “ghost guns” and thousands of fentanyl pills at a southside home.
According to the Tucson Police Department, officers arrested the suspect after Westside Community Response Team officers began an investigation into a prohibited possessor accused of building and selling guns on social media.
Officers developed probable cause and obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s home on the southside. During the search, officers reported finding 12 privately made firearms, commonly known as “ghost guns,” along with two Glock handguns and various handgun and rifle parts. They also seized about 3,000 M30 fentanyl pills.
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were called to assist due to the large number of weapons recovered, TPD said. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail on multiple charges including five counts of prohibited possession, narcotic sales and possession of a handgun during a narcotic offense.
“TPD’s Community Response Teams combine information from the community with proactive police work to identify criminal activity and get illegal guns and dangerous drugs off our streets,” the department said.
Anyone with information about criminal activity in their area is asked to call 88-CRIME, and they may be eligible for a cash reward.
