Mr. Mirainga performs at Mesa Music Festival in 2015. The free downtown Mesa festival returns Oct. 15 to 17.

Melina Dellamarggio

The Valley’s largest free music festival takes over downtown Mesa this weekend, with more than 200 performances happening over three days.

Mesa Music Festival runs from Thursday, Oct. 15 through Saturday, Oct. 17 with emerging artists from around the Southwest playing on eight stages. Nu-metal act P.O.D. headlines a lineup featuring rock, punk, folk, metal, country, reggae and hip-hop. Meanwhile, the Off the Main Comedy Stage hosts local comics, open mic and a roast battle.

The festival’s kicks off with a music industry symposium at Mesa Arts Center where artists can learn how to build their careers and grow their fan bases. Speakers include former MTV personality Matt Pinfield, All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter and songwriter/producer Gardner Cole. DJ Muggs, formerly Cypress Hill, performs at a VIP party on Thursday night.

Experiencing live music by emerging artists is the festival’s main focus, though. Free performances take place on Friday and Saturday at bars, venues and outdoor stages within walking distance of each other. Here’s the complete Mesa Music Festival 2026 schedule.
