TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The News 4 Tucson Lifesaver campaign has officially kicked off for its 17th year. The annual campaign teaches children and families the ABCs of water safety, and works to prevent childhood drownings in Southern Arizona.
For 17 years, News 4 Tucson has partnered with the community to help save lives after a record number of drownings in Southern Arizona.
News 4 Tucson’s Lifesaver Swimfest offers free half-hour swim lessons for young children.
The first group lesson takes place Thursday, May 7 at Ott YMCA, 401 S. Prudence Road, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Families can register their children for the first Swimfest event by visiting kvoa.com/lifesaver.
