TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — The Arizona Department of Public Safety has identified the three people killed in a wrong-way crash that occurred west of Tucson last Sunday morning.
According to AZDPS, the wrong-way Ford SUV driver was identified as 32-year-old Jordan Alexander Lee McMillan, of Tucson.
The Chevrolet driver, 47-year-old Alfred Manuel, and passenger, 34-year-old Kayla Manuel, were identified as the victims of the fatal crash. AZDPS said the two were residents of Sells, Arizona.
On Sept. 13 around 3 a.m., troopers responded to a wrong-way crash report on state Route 86, Ajo Highway, near milepost 159. AZDPS said McMillan was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes when he collided head-on with the Chevrolet.
Alfred and Kayla Manuel were pronounced dead at the scene. McMillan was taken to a hospital where he died.
“Impairment is suspected in relation to the wrong-way driver,” AZDPS said.
Detectives with AZDPS Vehicular Crimes Unit are investigating the fatal crash.
