Son in custody after fatal stabbing of parents in Peoria, police say



A man has been taken into custody after allegedly stabbing and killing his parents inside their Peoria home on Tuesday evening, according to police.

PEORIA, Ariz. — A man has been taken into custody after allegedly stabbing and killing his parents inside a Peoria home on Tuesday evening, according to the Peoria Police Department.

Officers with the Peoria Police Department responded shortly after 6 p.m. to a residence in a typically quiet neighborhood near 83rd Avenue and Jomax Road. Upon arrival, officers found two victims dead inside the home.

In a statement, police said: “The officers responded shortly after 6 p.m. to a call for service where two adults were found, or two victims were found, to be deceased inside a residence. The son had called in to 911, stating he had just murdered his parents and he was going to be waiting for police. The son is believed to be around 29 years old.”

The suspect, 29-year-old Jonathan A. Turk, was taken into custody. His parents have been identified as 63-year-old Fraser S. Turk and 56-year-old Tina B. Turk. Next of kin has been notified.

Police said this is believed to be an isolated incident, and the case remains active.

“Out of respect for the family and to preserve the integrity of the investigation, no 
additional details will be released at this time,” police said in a statement.

According to MCSO records, Jonathan A. Turk was booked for first-degree murder and second-degree murder.
