Palo Verde High eyes 4-day week, asks for parent and guardian feedback | Local News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Parents and guardians of students at Palo Verde High Magnet School are being asked to provide feedback on a proposed shift to a four-day school week for the next academic year.

The school has detailed that under the new plan, school hours would be from 8:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. each day. Students would attend seven one-hour classes daily. Fridays would be designated for academic support, credit recovery and internships.

Administrators believe the change will make the school more competitive with enrollment, help retain great teachers and improve student grades.

Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to express their opinions through a survey the school plans to send out.

“Early feedback shows overwhelming support and if we continue to show support we will pass it to our District for consideration,” Palo Verde officials said.
