Research shows fewer pregnant women taking tylenol | News

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KVOA) – New research is examining the impact of comments made by President Trump on medication use during pregnancy.

A study published in The Lancet reveals that orders for Tylenol dropped among pregnant patients in emergency departments after President Trump raised concerns about a possible link to autism.

The FDA referred to the issue as an ongoing debate, stating, “Current research does not show strong evidence.”

Researchers discovered that orders for paracetamol fell by about 10 percent for pregnant patients, but not for others.

The ongoing study aims to further understand the influence of public figures on health-related decisions.
