TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A motorcyclist died after crashing into a curb and leaving the roadway in the 4200 block of East Golf Links Road.
Officers from Operations Division Midtown responded to the single-vehicle motorcycle collision at approximately 2:20 a.m. on June 6. Tucson Fire Department personnel arrived to evaluate the motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Nathan Daniel Roberts Jr.
Roberts was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been notified.
Traffic detectives responded and continued the investigation. Witness statements and roadway evidence indicate that Roberts was traveling westbound on Golf Links Road when he failed to maintain his lane and struck the north curb.
Roberts subsequently left the roadway and came to rest in a dirt area. Investigators determined that Roberts possessed a valid motorcycle endorsement but was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Failure to maintain a travel lane has been identified as the primary contributing factor in this incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
